I took a curious look at the happiness of OECD countries (via European Social Survey, ESS 2004) and their anti-depressant intake (DDD/ 1000 population/ day) in year 2005 and found it is interesting to note that:
Legend:
Green – Nordic countries like Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
Blue – Continental Europe like Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and UK.
Red – Others like Czech Rep., Greece, Hungary, Portugal and Slovak Rep.
MeThink: Is it a coincidence that the higher DDD a country consume on anti-depressants, the more likely they feel happy? 😉
