That is very interesting the large increase in divorce and decrease in marriage. It makes you wonder the cause, although it seems that an increase in divorce seems to be congruent thoroughout the world at this particular juncture. I work for http://www.firstwivesworld.com, it is an online community for women goin through the various stages of divorce. Everyday I go through the page and read all of the new articles, blogs, and watch the video blogs. There is one on our site right now about the sudden increase in divorce in China, because women are just fed up. Another increase in divorce is within the Muslim communities. Some of them state that men only need to say “I divorce you” three times to divorce their wife legally and many are doing it now by text message. It is very interesting the sudden surge in divorce rates throughout the world. It shows our willingness to go with the times so to speak. We are taking the stigma out of divorce.
    Just my two cents

There’s no need to wonder at all, Ann Marie. It all boils down to one thing and one thing only: feminism.

Actually, I believe it has to do with the unwillingness to get up every day and forgive again and again no matter what the cost, the selfishness of holding back love no matter what the cost, and the unwillingness to come last no matter what the cost. If you were to look under the veil of feminism, you would actually find the absence of a Christian centered life that is the real culprit. Jesus did not say ‘me first,’ he said ‘me last.’ We live in a world society of rampant egoism now (feminism being but one of many of its manifestations) and only self sacrifice can break it – that is self sacrifice done with love.
