Yup, there is a big possible that there are many unreported rape cases in Malaysia, and probably true for many other Asia and Africa countries as well. But let’s say for Malaysia’s rape rate per 100 000 pop. to increase from 6.0 to 12 (on par with Finland 11.0), we will double the total rape cases reported. To make it 18.0 rape cases per 100 000 (on par with France), we need to triple the total cases, which is 4413 (year 2003). To make it as equal to US, we need to times 5 the current number (1471×5=7355 cases). In other words, 7355 cases per year, or 20 cases per day as compared to current 4.0 cases per day. Possible? Let’s hope not.

No no, no race there. But it is interesting to note that why the rape rates are high even among the countries with highly open-minded abt sex and high gender equality like Sweden and France, and Malaysia or Japan no?
However, I would pat MAS on the back of their shoulders in the recent “race” they won 😛
