ESS: How interested in politics?

In European Social Survey, the following question is asked:

How interested would you say you are in politics? Are you…

Caterogical answers were given, such as:
1 – Very interested
2 – Quite interested
3 – Hardly interested
4 – Not at all interested

Mean score value was calculated from the answers and tabulated according to gender and marital status, as seen below, with the comparison of year 2002, 2004 and 2006:

MeThink: on average…
- Men are more interested in politics as compared to women.
- Among men, the interest in politics go in the rank: married > divorced > separated > widowed > never married.
- OTOH, for women, the interest in politics: divorced > married > separated > never married > widowed.
