Gas Price, GDP (PPP) and Comparison

Graph 1 shows the price of gas around the world dated 16th-March-2007 and the GDP (PPP) of each country.

Bottom 4 lowest petrol gas price countries are:

Venezuela, Egypt, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia (Oil exporting countries)

While the top 5 highest petrol  price countries are:

UK, Hong Kong, Sweden, Belgium and Netherlands.

However, if we normalised the amount they pay for 1000L petrol with their income via GDP (PPP),  most of the OECD countries spend around 5% of their income. Again, oil-exporting countries enjoy the benefit of low petrol/gas price but developing countries like Brazil, Lebanon, Portugal is paying relatively higher gas price (more than 7%).
